Halloween Movies

          Halloween movies! I love Halloween movies more than I love the music. The majority of my list today will most likely be Disney Halloween movies because they're the best and you can't say no to an old classics Disney movie. All of these movies are kid and family orientated. If you don't know any of these movies you must be living under a rock or not from America.

 Hocus Pocus- my all time favorite Halloween movie of all time. if you haven't seen or heard of it you must be living under a rock. aired in 1993 on theDisney Channel this movie is about the tale of 3 witches who are awakened on the night of Halloween and must gain their youth again before time runs out and they disappeared forever. This movie is perfect for all ages because it has a part that every age can relate to. This movie puts you in the Halloween spirit no matter how down you are. It's fantastic; therefore, it deserves the number 1 spot on my list.

Halloweentown Triliogy: The Halloweentown Triliogy includes HalloweenTown, Halloweentown 2:  Kalibar's Rvenge, and Halloweentown High. Technixally there are four movies in the series but I don't count the fourth one because it was awful and Marni, the main character, wasn't even the same actress

Tip Toe Through The Window.

          If you can't tell already all of this weeks post are going to be Halloween related; continuing with Halloween music. I love all Halloween music; even though there isn't much of it. Some of my favorites are the Panic at the Disco version of This Is Halloween from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the classic Halloween theme music. Others include the Ghostbusters theme song and childhood favorites the Monster Mash and Flying Purple People Eater. Though the ones I recommend as my Top 10 Favorite Halloween  Songs are:

         Also please say I am not the only one who has heard the song TipToe. Even though the song isn't specifically Halloween orientated it definitely has the creepy factor. The song is terrifying and whenever I here it I picture a demonic child running in the dark singing it. Seriously who made it and why. It's been stuck in my head all math class and it needs to STOP. 

          In other non Halloween related news I had a quiz today that I thought I would definitely bomb because I couldn't do any of the work the past few day. So I rewatched all my teacher's math videos and surprisingly it was pretty easy! (I hope that doesn't mean I failed) I'm super proud of myself and hopefully the rest of this month log unit will be easy too!

It's Bigger Than Jesus For Me.

          Halloween is my favorite holiday. "it's bigger than Jesus for me"
          As long as I can remember I have always loved Halloween and always will. My mom came up with the most creative halloween costumes for me as a kid. Though the past Halloweens I've been tying to go for the face paint look instead of an actual costume because where I live you should just go as an Eskimo every year because of how cold it is. Also my neighborhood decides to trick or treat before Halloween (yes I still trick or treat) instead of actually on Halloween. Which I guess is better. It's at least 10 degrees warmer. For actual Halloween and my friend's party I'm actually going to try at a costume again. I will attempt to make a minion costume but with how cold it is and how late I'm starting it I doubt I'll even get to wear it.
          I'm really looking forward to carving pumpkins today. I'm going to try and make a skull and a typical jack-o-latern. (ill post a picture when i'm done) Last year someone kicked in our pumpkins last year and I will be on the look out this year. They will not get away with it..
          I've come to the realization that my family practically has no Halloween decorations. When I have my own home it will be loaded with Halloween spirit. Spiderwebs and pumpkins everywhere you go. Dressing up to give out the best candy around town. I will be thatt lady.

Poems Will Be The Death Of Me.

         There will forever be one thing I despise in English class. Although I've come to understand and begin to like grammar and writing again, I hate poems. If it is not a haiku, an acrostic, or one that rhymes, I will not like it. One universal rule of poems should be that they must rhyme, otherwise it's just a paragraph written in a terrible and foolish format.
          In fact today in my Honors English class we are reading William Cullen Bryant's poem, Thanatopsis. When translated into Greek the title means " a view of death". Coming from the words Thanatos: death and opsis: view or sight. I read it through and didn't understand any bit of it. First of all since the poem comes from the early 1800s I can't comprehend any of their almost "ancient" language.  Also it doesn't help that it starts of not stating what or who the subject it or what why they are talking about death. I just read it through. Going in one part of my mind and out the other. Not knowing anything about the story. I don't get what is happening and I don't think I ever will.
          If there was anyone in the world who believed that iambic pentamitor would help, they are wrong, to me it is completely useless. If I'm going to read something I'm going to read it as I want and like not follow a certain pattern so it should sound nice. It's just too complex. Poems should be simple, easy to read, and rhyme. If it doesn't have these characteristics it is not allowed to be a poem because it is too confusing and misleading. I know this will never be the actual guidelines for poems, but if I were to choose them that's what they'd need.
          All these people in my class are coming up with amazing inferences and accusation about Thanatopsis while I'm sitting here only knowing the obvious answer. The story is about death.  I guess my mind just needs a more simple approach when referring to things. Therefore from now on I think I will stick to my trusty Dr. Seuss when it comes to reading poems.

Hello Darling.

          I don't really know how to start of my first post here. I have tried numerous times to try and make a blog.  As one can tell my attempts have never really worked out. I never seemed to be very interested in it and I never made any actual posts. I just want to create something that other people would be able to relate to it and be able to find people with the same interests as me.  This time I believe that it'll work, and if it doesn't oh well. If you're curious la fille de livre translates to the book girl or the girl of book in French. I chose this name because of my love for books and the French language. Therefore in turn posts here will be about books, fandoms, the arts, and my daily somewhat uninteresting life. Even if no one ever even finds my blog I am ok with that. I am just here to speak of the wonderful and awful things about being an American teenager living in the 21st century.
